
Join our Music Vision Room workshops led by expert music teacher Mendi Singh.
These friendly, fun, and relaxing sessions are designed for people with visual impairments. You don’t need any musical experience – just come and enjoy being creative with music!
What to Expect
- Create rhythms on everyday objects
Use mugs, tins, pots, and pans with a pair of chopsticks provided. You may be surprised at the wonderful music you can make from ordinary items. - Experience music from around the world
Guest artists include some of the finest performers in the UK, featuring Indian music, Scottish fiddle, jazz piano, world flutes and bagpipes, Chinese flute, and singer-songwriter performances. You can sit and listen or join in with the rhythms you learn. - Record your music
All artists will record music for you. On recording day workshops, you can add the rhythms you’ve learned. - Take your music home
At the end of the project, you’ll receive a digital copy of your music. - Guided support
Mendi Singh will guide you step-by-step throughout the project, so there’s no need to worry if you’ve never done anything like this before. - Relax and enjoy
These sessions are fun, educational, and wonderfully therapeutic. - Explore and be inspired
This is a great opportunity to explore and learn about music from all corners of the world.
How the Sessions Work
- First session: Introduction to the project with Mendi Singh — experience Indian music and explore rhythms.
- Second session: Start recording rhythms and music.
- Following sessions: Guest artists create music with participants. The next session after each guest artist is a recording day workshop, where you add your rhythms to the music.

- 6 Feb 2026 – 10:30 AM: Guest Artist: Max Gittings – world flutes, bagpipes, whistles
- 20 Feb 2026 – 10:30 AM: Recording Session with Mendi Singh – add rhythms from Max Gittings session
All sessions start at 10:30 AM, last 45 minutes, and are completely free.

About Mendi Singh

We are thrilled that Mendi will be leading these workshops alongside some of the UK’s finest musicians.
Mendi is a professional tabla player, composer, and educator with over 30 years of international performing experience, including Brazil, India, Australia, and the USA. He has collaborated with renowned artists such as Peter Gabriel, Gary Barlow, and Take That.
Mendi is passionate about making music inclusive and has created and delivered many accessible music projects across the UK.
