Support centres
Our Vision Support Centres were established to meet your need for local access to equipment and information in your community.
Tea, coffee and biscuits are served and a minimum donation of £2 towards the centre operating costs is requested at our welcome desk on arrival.
Our staff, volunteers and attendees can’t wait to welcome you!
If buses are not suitable or if you struggle to meet the cost of taxis and so transport is a barrier to you being able to attend, please let us know. We can refer you into community transport organisations and have a small amount of funding that may be used to assist you. Contact us via: [email protected] and mark your email “FAO Rebecca” or call 01926 411331 and leave a message for Rebecca.
Each Vision Support Centre provides the following:
Advice, support and information
Information about our charity’s services
Demonstrations of daily living aids to promote independence and safety
An opportunity to meet other people with sight loss
Regular presentations of services in your area as well as displays of products for people with visual impairment
Magnifier Sessions to help you identify the most appropriate magnifier for your condition – by appointment
IT Training – assistance with setting up and using your existing phone or tablet in the best way to suit you. If you are thinking of purchasing a device, we have a selection of phones and tablets to try – by appointment
Weekly support centres
Everyone is welcome – you do not need to be registered as visually impaired to join us. If you, or a friend or relative have a sight condition and you wish to obtain information or advice, please do come along!
